We spent a sunny Saturday afternoon in DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park for this fun engagement shoot. I adore the new large-scale murals up in the area! They made for such a colorful and lively backdrop to showcase this couple's charm and humor. Justin was great about keeping a constant smile on Sarah's face and was always cracking jokes, especially about the fact that we passed several weddings, engagements, birthday parties and quinceanera shoots going on at the same time in the neighborhood. Viva Brooklyn!
Rebecca + Justin's Wedding
Rebecca and Justin are both artists and their winter wedding at MyMoon in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood was full of laughter, love and beautiful details. It ended in a rockin' dance party - my kind of night!
Rubio Family
For this family photo session we spent a crisp fall morning on The Highline, one of my favorite spots for greenery in NYC.
Moira + Scott's Wedding
Moira and Scott were wed on a lovely November day at Holy Trinity Chapel in West Point, NY, home of the military academy Scott attended. The reception was held at the nearby Mansion at the Colonial Terrace. These two are so head over heels for each other and it really comes out in their portraits - they are giddy with glee and love! Moira planned the wedding while living in across the continent in Alaska (including helping to design her custom made dress which she tried on for the first time that day!) and everything went off without a hitch. Congrats on a beautiful day! Thanks to Nathan for 2nd shooting with me and Kate of Green Apple Weddings for coordinating.
Isabel's Bat Mitzvah
Isabel's Bat Mitzvah at the Bowery Hotel was simply gorgeous. Isabel's mom did such an amazing job with planning the event - my jaw dropped when I saw the stunning table settings and floral arrangements. I've known this family for several years from my days at working at a Hebrew school in Tribeca and it was such a delight to see the evolution of this beautiful girl into a young woman. Congrats!!
Hilary + Matt's Wedding
There is so much I love about this October wedding at Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture in Park Slope, Brooklyn. First off, the couple is absolutely adorable and head-over-heels for each other. They are both writers and started dating when they lived down the hall from each other in their apartment building -- a New York City rom-com fantasy come true. Secondly, the cake. Not only did it depict beautiful silhouette scenes of the couple, but it also lit up from the inside! How amazing is that? Lastly, Hilary surprise serenaded Matt during the reception and had their guests shower him with plastic hearts while she and her bridesmaid sang to him. So incredibly sweet.
Brooklyn Family Photography
I had such a great time with this beautiful family. Little lady was feeling a little grumpy at first getting over a cold, but by the end of our time in Prospect Park she was giggling like a maniac, thanks to her Moms' excellent tickling skills. xoxo
Melissa + Matt's Wedding
In early September Melissa and Matt were married at Williamsburg's Grand Ferry Park, followed by a lovely lunch reception at nearby Aurora Restaurant. I loved all the vintage and colorful details, including a romance novel gift for each guest. Melissa and Matt were were so creative, sweet, grounded and fun to photograph. Congrats!
Brooklyn Family Photography
This lovely family is moving to D.C. so we did a family photo shoot to commemorate their current home in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We strolled from their apartment to the East River Park and enjoyed a pleasant summer morning together.
Hilary + Matt
Well, you can't get much cuter than these two! After sugar-rush inducing sundaes and milkshakes at Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain, we strolled around Cobble Hill and you couldn't have asked for more beautiful late summer light. I'm looking forward to shooting their wedding in October!
Lauren + Scott
Not only has Lauren been my BFF since I was 10 years old, but she has been my favorite model/photography subject since the first time I picked up a camera in high school. (I may or may not have made her pose in fairy wings surrounded by twinkly lights in her parents' basement). She has found herself a fine gentlemen and when I was down visiting Austin in March for SXSW we snuck in this portrait session at Shoal Creek Park in Austin. How adorable are they? :)
Danielle + Rob
Can you believe this babelicious cowgirl is my sister!!??? Her wedding is in two and a half weeks and I couldn't be more excited/thrilled/vaklepmt. We shot these when I was down in Austin in March and I'll be going back to TX in about a week to help her get ready for the big day! xoxoxoxoxo
